Bin sizes and lifts
Bin sizes and collections per week, so you are not paying for half-empty bins.
The rules where you trade
In England, Simpler Recycling has applied to workplaces since 31 March 2025, and applies to businesses with fewer than 10 full-time equivalent employees from 31 March 2027.
Contract end date
Waste contracts can renew automatically, so we check the end date and notice terms first.
Duty of care paperwork
Businesses keep waste transfer notes, usually for two years, so we check your collector provides them.
Extra charges
Excess weight, extra lifts and bin rental, read line by line on your invoice.

Do I have to separate food waste?
In England, businesses with fewer than 10 full-time equivalent employees have until 31 March 2027 to comply with Simpler Recycling; larger businesses have had to since 31 March 2025. In Wales the rules have applied since 6 April 2024 where you produce 5kg or more of food waste a week. Sources: GOV.UK, Welsh Government.
What is a waste transfer note?
A record of the waste you hand over and who collects it. Businesses keep them, usually for two years, as part of their duty of care. Source: Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
Do you handle clinical waste?
No. We look after general waste and recycling. Clinical waste needs a specialist collector.
What about used cooking oil?
Cooking oil must never go down the drain. We arrange its collection through a licensed partner, who collects the oil; Helios acts only as the broker.
